Ryder Cup Pairings Announced

Pittsburgh, PA:  The Friday Pairings Have been Announced and the morning schedule looks like this.

Players sitting in mornings, DeChambeau, Mickelson, Simpson,  and Watson for the US Squad while Garcia, Noren, Poulter, and Stenson is sitting for the European team.

First Match

The Pairing of Finau and Koepka right out the gate is very strong for the US team.   Finau is as consistent as anyone has been in golf and his pairing with Brooks Koepka is well planned by Furyk.  They both are consistent off the tee and pound the ball, although the course is more of a shot makers course.

Rose and Rahm is a classic paring as Justin Rose is as good as anyone in the game right now, and he is paired with a very talented rookie that could be battling some nerves.  I believe this is an even matchup.

Second Match

The second match I believe favors the US Team with  Fowler and Johnson.   McIllroy and Olesen could turn into a real nice play for Bjorn, but I do not believe Rory is playing well enough right now.  Where as even though DJ is not making Putts right now, both players are consistently shooting sub par rounds and playing well enough to dominate this pairing.

Third Match

Spieth and Thomas are best friends and are used to playing together.   Although everyone is talking about the Reed and Spieth pairing in the last Cup, there is no surprise  to see them broken up for the morning on Day1.

I do not understand by Hatton  is in the second pairing as he does not make enough birdies to hang with the US Team.  Paul Casey will have to really carry this pairing unless something very unforeseen takes place.

Match four

Patrick Reed and Tiger Woods pairing is going to be great theatre.   I can’t wait to see how they play together with Tiger being on top of his game and Reed returning as Captain America but not playing like it coming into this event.

I believe this European team of Molinari and Fleetwood has the potential of being the best pairing of the day for them.  Even more so than Rose and Rahm.  Both Molinari and Fleetwood are playing really well where as Rahm has cooled off a great deal in recent weeks.

US and Europe will split the morning session with the US Claiming victory in the second and third match.  I believe either team could win all four matches, but I am fairly certain they will split in the manor I have stated.
