Kelly Kraft Has Great Second Round To Lead at The Greenbrier

A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier has turned into a real shoot out as there are now 14 players within five strokes of the lead. The leader, Kelly Kraft, would shoot a 63 to take the lead into the weekend.

Kelly Kraft leads the tournament but it was Anirban Lahiri that would shoot the round of the day to match what Simpson did on Thursday. That round would put Lahiri in a tie for second place at 12-under par with Day one leader Webb Simpson.

Kevin Na, a player I nearly picked as my long shot to win this week, shot a 63 today to streak up the leaderboard. Sitting at 8-under now, Na is just four strokes out of the lead.

Harold Varner III had a bogey free round of 64 to move into contention at a 10-under par. Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson would get to 5-under par for the tournament, though he is far enough back to not be in contention.

Others in play right now include Jason Kokrak at 11-under and Whee Kim at 10-under.  Kokrak has played two straight bogey free rounds thus far this week.

Joaquin Niemann and Defending Champion Xander Schauffele are tied at 8-under.  Jim Furyk also made the cut at 6-under par.

There were a total of 16 bogey-free rounds shot today and 78 players that made the cut and will move into the weekend.  The cutline by the end of the day on Friday was 3-under par.

Tee Times for Saturday.
