Today was the Arnold Palmer Latrobe Country Club Classic Pro-3 Am Presented by XCOAL .  The team of Beck/Thrasher/McNair/Burzawa were your winners by 1 stroke at 15-under.   They were closely followed by Beeler/Bosh/Vollmer/Delrosso at 14-under.  5 strokes separated the top 5 teams at Latrobe Country Club.  For the rest of the results follow this LINK.

Latrobe Country Club is a tremendous Venue with such a unique and storied history in Western Pennsylvania.  Arnold Palmer was such a steward of Golf in the World with what he did in his playing career, and after his career with all the different companies and organizations he was either a part of or started.

The Club itself was founded in 1920 by a group of local Industrialists and Bankers. After they were able to obtain 63 acres of land, the construction of the course began.  It started out as a short 9 hole course and one of the key people involved in the construction and later design of the course was Arnold Palmer’s father Deke (Deacon) Palmer.

As revisions and additions were made, Arnold would get more and more involved in the 50’s and 60’s.  By that time, the club and the course would take the shape of what we see today.
