Roy Vucinich wins TriState PGA Tam O’ Shanter Open


Today’s event at Hermitage PA’s Tam O’Shanter Golf Coursewent off without a hitch after what was a very wet weekend.  After all the rain, seven players found themselves under par with Roy Vucinich leading the way with a tournament winning 3-under par round.

Allegheny Country Club’s Roy Vucinich, at 71 years young led the way today with a sparkling round of 69.  He would finish the round with 6 birdies, including a great finish with 2 birdies on the final 3 holes which helped lead him to the win.

Tied for second at 2-under was Gene Walters of the PA Golf Academy, Jason Robinson from Wheeling Country Club and Joe Boros from Treesdale Country Club.  Boros has been very competitive throughout the season and was once again at or near the top this Week.

Tam O’Shanter is a 6500 yard par 72 course in Hermitage PA, that sports more than 80 years of unbelievable history.  A history that includes some of the greats in game playing here, one of which holds the course record.  The King himself Arnold Palmber played the course in his younger years and Sam Snead holds the club record After played a couple of exhibition 18 hole rounds.
