For years it was Tiger Woods that drew in so many to watch each week. Although there will never be another Arnold Palmer or Tiger Woods, the new generation of Golfers has its own version of Must See TV. That would be Jordan Speith.
After winning the Masters and being the player of the year in 2015, he suffered the quadruple bogey here last year that turned out to be his ultimate undoing, fans and viewers Are following close to see what we get this season. And from what we have seen thus far, this version of “The Jordan Speith Show” is turned into more “Must See TV.”
Although, he suffered another quadruple bogey in the first round and finished day one 10 strokes back, all Jordan has done since is pulled to within a couple strokes of the lead going into the final round. Some wondered if he is still thinking about “The Collapse”. It is fairly clear he has moved on and is ready to compete again at Golf’s Highest Levels.
Jordan actually could have come closer but missed an opportunity or two down the stretch in round 3. Though a -4 par round is still very good at Augusta.
Jordan is lurking for sure, but he will have to put together quite a round to catch up to Justin Rose, Sergio Garcia, and Rickie Fowler. The entire first page of the leaderboard is just stunning when you consider that you not only have Sergio, Rose, and Fowler but also Ryan Moore, Adam Scott, Lee Westwood, and Paul Casey all within shouting distance.
Sunday’s round has an opportunity to be one for the ages.
