Andrew Landry started his second round this morning leading the US Open, but after early struggles on the front nine, that lead slid off the first page of the leaderboard. The Young Texan rebounded quickly though and was able to drive himself back up onto the first page and finished the round just 1 stroke behind the leader at 3-under par.
Landry, the young Texan from Austin has had some struggles this season bouncing back and forth from the Web.com tour and the PGA Tour. He has made only 3 cuts of the 9 tournaments this season on the PGA Tour and made just 1 cut of his three starts on the Web.com tour. Four cuts with overall winnings of $70k helps prove out just how big a long shot he is right now. Anything can happen on a given weekend, but a run at the Open would truly be magical for Landry.
Speaking of “anything can happen,” here is a quote from Landry.
“There is lot of golf left, anything can happen.” A quote from Landry after the round on Sirius XM Radio Coverage from Doug Bell.
Landry finished his 2015 season 21st on the Web.com money list which secured his 2016 PGA Tour Eligibility for the season.
After finishing his second round, he will now head back to eat and relax a bit before he has to start his third round late this afternoon. With a tournament of this size and importance, it is as much fun to have the underdogs in contention as the heavily favored. And this weekend we will be treated to both, so follow us close here at DYSTNow.com will all your updates, Quotes, and Scores.
